UPPSC PCS is the state-level three-stage exam conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for state services. It consists of Prelims (objective), Mains (descriptive), and Interview.
One day, two objective papers (OMR). Each paper is 200 marks / 2 hours. Paper-II (CSAT) is qualifying at 33%; only Paper-I (GS) counts for deciding who moves to Mains. Papers are bilingual (Hindi and English). Negative marking = ⅓ per wrong answer.

Candidates who clear the Prelims appear for the Mains Examination. It consists of 8 descriptive papers. Unlike Prelims, marks here (except Hindi qualifying paper) are added to merit.
The UPPCS Personality Test carries 100 marks. Its score is added to the Mains marks to form the final merit list. Candidates are interviewed by a Board constituted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission to judge overall suitability for state administrative services.
