More on News

  • The initiative aims to safeguard tribal artforms, enable sustainable livelihoods, and connect India’s tribal communities with a global audience.
  • This move is part of a larger digital push by the Ministry, following the earlier launch of ‘Adi Vaani’, an AI-based tribal language translator.
  • Hon’ble Minister of State, Shri Durgadas Uikey, emphasised the platform’s holistic vision, stating: “From Shiksha to Sampada to Haat – Adi Sanskriti is a holistic platform for preservation, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment… With its launch, anyone can now connect with the treasure of tribal culture, heritage, and livelihoods.”

About the Platform

  • Adi Sanskriti is envisioned as the world’s first Digital University dedicated to tribal culture. It is a convergent platform built in partnership with State Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) from 15 states, ensuring authenticity and grassroots participation. It integrates three core components:
    • Adi Vishwavidyalaya (Digital Tribal Art Academy): An educational hub currently offering 45 immersive courses on tribal dance, painting, crafts, music, and folklore, enabling users to learn directly from cultural custodians.
    • Adi Sampada (Socio-Cultural Repository): A digital museum and knowledge repository hosting over 5,000 curated documents across five themes: paintings, dance, clothing & textiles, artefacts, and livelihood, serving as a vital resource for researchers and enthusiasts.
    • Adi Haat (Online Marketplace): Currently linked with Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), this component is evolving into a dedicated e-commerce platform for tribal artisans to sell their products directly to consumers, ensuring better income and sustainable livelihoods.
  • The long-term vision is to scale Adi Sanskriti into a full-fledged Tribal Digital University, offering certifications and advanced research opportunities, thereby empowering tribal communities as active participants in the digital knowledge economy.
